Chocolate Molten Cake…A Valentine’s Day Staple

This dessert is intrinsically gluten-free, rich and decadent. It is the perfect indulgence if you’re having a sweet craving.

Serves: 4
Preparation Time: 15 mins
Cooking Time: 10-15 mins

Ingredients

1 stick of butter
1 & 1/2 cups semi sweet chocolate chips
4 eggs
4 tablespoons brown sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 Tablespoons of white sugar
1 tablespoon cocoa powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
powdered sugar (for garnish)

Preparation Instructions:

-Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
-Brush 4 (6-ounce) ramekins with soft butter and white sugar. Set the ramekins aside.
-Put the chocolate and butter in a medium heatproof bowl. Bring a saucepan filled with an inch of water to a very slow simmer; set the bowl over, the water. Stir the chocolate and butter until melted and smooth (about 5 minutes).
-Whisk together the eggs, brown sugar, vanilla, cocoa powder and salt in a separate bowl. Pour the melted chocolate and butter into the egg mixture and whisk together (about 5 minutes). The batter will thicken.
-Fill the ramekins 3/4 full, leaving room for the cake to rise.
-Bake for 10-15 minutes. Remove from oven, dust with powdered sugar and serve immediately. This recipe goes great with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
